elitistphoenix
Hi guys and girls I realise this a question that has probably been asked a million times in a million different ways but I hope you'll have the patience to answer. I'm a complete newbie to the Mac OS but I desperately want to get it installed on my computer. However I tried the Kalyway Leopard 10.5.2 release and i couldn't get it past the bootloader (trying a few different kernels and different parameters). My question is which release would you recommend for a complete newbie (i've basically lived on linux for a few years now so I'm not a complete n00b I hope) but I've never had any experience with Macs so what distro/version/release would you reccommend? The computer it will be going on is a: Celeron 2.4 with only up to sse2 768mb ram 15gig IDE hdd Mainboard: P4P800S Chipset: i865P/PE/G/i848P I like the idea of the new iATKOS release and being able to use "Apple Update" or whatever its called though I'm not sure it will work on my PC. Please help with your opinions and suggestions. Thanks, NJ
