Kamster
Sent & sent. boum, be sure to use the EP35 DSDT file (see the readme); it's in a special folder - don't use the P35 DSDT file. The P35 only works on Rev1 & Rev2, not the EP35. Ill have what they are having please! 10.5.5 boots slower than the previous ones. periodical video stutter unstable ide burner, iso's cause kernel panics. 9.5.0 kernel EP35-DS3L Thank you. brodskive
I would really like to test your package on my DS3P-board (yeah, I know that's not what it's intended for, but the difference isn't big).. so it would be really nice if you could send me a link aswell, then I could figure out what's working and what's not

Here's a blog post with some info, a package, and a link to the DSDT tool: http://######.com/weaksauce12/?p=9 PCWiz has kindly given me some server space and a blog - thanks man! I'll be using it to chronicle my Hackintosh projects as far as updates and things go, and then post "official" updates here on Insanely. The final package is getting closer to release. Here's a link to the "official" weaksauce12 blog http://######.com/weaksauce12/ Thanks to PCWiz, I'll also be able to host files so we won't have to muck around in Rapidshare or MediaFire anymore. Whoohoo!
weaksauce12
Also what the heck, someone keeps editing my signature...first it was shrunk, now all the of links to my guides have been removed Weird...are we not allow to have links to our own guides anymore? Edit: Link to signature rules: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=16427 I don't know how linking to my own guides on InsanelyMac was wrong, but okay...I changed it to just my Blog link & my basic system specs. Weird...
macgirl
Of course you are allowed to put links, even if they are off site, but there is a size limit, if it is text 5 lines or regular font or the equivalence if you increase the font size. Off-site tutorials are not allowed on the tutorials forum, but you can put them in your sig. Anyway, I am testing DSDT patch, do you know a good test to know if it is working? My original sig was only 4 lines...I don't know why they deleted it, that's what I was wondering about. They deleted the line with links to 4 or 5 of my guides here in the Genius Bar Oh well. As far as the DSDT patch goes, the first test is simply if your rig boots up with the DSDT patch and Chameleon. If your DSDT patch didn't work, your machine won't boot. I had an EP35 tester try my P35 dump and it didn't work, so you need to make a custom DSDT patch and then use that Chameleon I've included in my zip file as the bootloader for the hard drive. The second way is to get your hands on a 10.5.6 beta release and give it a shot to see if 10.5.6 actually installs. Or just wait for .6 to come out...whenever. Hehe. macgirl
Sorry for the off-topic: maybe you had 4 lines in your signature, but keep in mind screen resolutions, maybe you saw only 4 lines, but people with 1280x800 (a very common res for laptops, even my Powebook has only 1024x768) see more lines. Ok, I also try to load the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext without a disabler also someone make a DSDT.aml that could avoid the need of HDAenabler.kext. Yeah, for now this works for us, but PC EFI v9 was just released and there's also a new Chameleon around the corner, so I think we'll see some pretty exciting stuff in upcoming months. Still needs a bit of massage to be made "easy".

Well, right now I am without a Disabler of the CPU-PM and working, the only thing I have problems (did not test a lot of program tho) is the Graphics Section of the System Profiler. The DSDT and HDA kext I am using is from cparm, post 93 and 94 http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...st&p=966635

gf_edge
hey weaksauce... i am very interested in your draft guide as well. might have some free time (aka no kids, no wife) this week, so what better way to spend it? ;-) thanks. edge
macgirl
That's odd, is it just a cosmetic glitch - shows up as an error in Sys Profiler? Maybe is because he has a 8600 and I a 9800 The HDA kext he posted has the HDAEnable, so I really don't know if he really success with DSDT patched for audio. Threepwood
So the DSDT thingie is to make more original kexts work without patches?
weaksauce12
So the DSDT thingie is to make more original kexts work without patches? No, DSDT fixes RTC (Real Time Clock) in 10.5.6. It won't boot otherwise.

Thanks to cparm: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=969523 Do you have a copy of the Chameleon DSDT? Because that's all you really need aside from a BootCD. I'm not going with the whole deal of bundling the audio and whatnot in my BOOT-132 release; I prefer to use Taruga + kexts + EFI Strings. This is much more convenient for me, mainly because everyone's video card is different and they can select their own in EFI Studio.

plipli
5.1 works on digital output, you just need to change your software settings for 5.1 output instead of stereo output. I don't know if 5.1 works on the 6-channel analog outputs, I only have stereo speakers on my desktop. where can i change this ? digital output doesn't seem to work :/ anyway thank you for your answer
nanfad
Hey weaksauce12, Your 10.5.4 guide is great. Keep up the good work. My machine does sleep but not automatically according to the energy saver. any ideas?
greythorne
i can't wait for the new release, as always keep up the good work. Cheers. do we need the genuine leopard DVD to install using the boo132? Or can i use kalyway DVD?
weaksauce12
where can i change this ? digital output doesn't seem to work :/ anyway thank you for your answer I believe it's a per-application setting, like if you use VLC you have to tell it to use 5.1. I just use headphones and crappy Logitech speakers hehe. I'll dig up some more info on this for you... Hey weaksauce12, Your 10.5.4 guide is great. Keep up the good work. My machine does sleep but not automatically according to the energy saver. any ideas? Thanks! That's odd, you shouldn't have any sleeping problems. If you can, get your machine prepped to upgrade to my BOOT-132 guide coming out this month. Sleep/Restart/Boot works even better on it! i can't wait for the new release, as always keep up the good work. Cheers. do we need the genuine leopard DVD to install using the boo132? Or can i use kalyway DVD? You will need a geniune Leopard DVD. This is a full Retail install - basically you can go down to an Apple Store, buy a copy of Leopard, and install it on your machine straight up Also, it looks like I am dropping IDE support. People are getting kernel panics and all the other weird bugs again. I'll include it as an experimental kext if people want to try it, however. **************************************** Hot Deal: 1.5TB Seagate for $139 shipped http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822148337
