weaksauce12
The Universal OSx86 Installer only lists the P35-DS3L rev.2 plugin as download option. Well, I guess I'll wait till tomorrow The database doesn't have my plugins yet. No need to wait till tomorrow, releasing it tonight vaporware Ouch! Haha. Guess I deserve that for continually pushing this release off does 4.1 or 5.1 audio work with this guide? i have no idea how to get that working.. i am able to get it working on 2.1 also.. i hope there is something on creating the boot partition... i coudlnt' figure that out for the life of me... On digital it does, if your player supports it, and if your source has a 5.1 soundtrack. Is the 10.5.5 guide being release today? Yes, working on it now Maybe if everyone stopped hammering Weaksauce12 with questions, he could actually get some stuff done. We're all very excited about this, but give him some slack, you're acting like kids, and it's not like he owes you anything. Thank you I'm a little too optimistic about my schedule, which I think I need to be more realistic about so it doesn't throw people off. It always takes 10x as long to do a good job on things as I think it's going to take lol. But I've got the day off today and I'm working on wrapping things up, so I should have it out late this evening. There are a couple sections I'll expand later as I get more time (dual-booting and advanced overclocking in particular), but there's more than enough information to set you on your merry way with the existing 60+ page guide
weaksauce12
Yeah okay, it's not gonna be tonight. But definitely tomorrow! :censored2: I have to revise the Leopard installation section and finish up a couple more parts, then do the voiceover for the video since my camera's mic sounds bad. Almost there! It will definitely be worth the wait. This feels like the neverending story lol - once again I apologize for it being late! The System Recipes section is done and has been expanded to 6 recipes from $350 - $1650, along with the latest prices from Newegg for an up-to-date pricing estimate. I also added a separate Advanced Overclocking section along with Windows overclocking tools.

Don't know, the DS3 is a different board than the DS3L series. Only off by a letter but sometimes causes crazy quirks I've done extensive testing on the following boards: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Rev 1.0 Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Rev 2.0 Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L

I may just release the package & PDF tonight, and finish the video tomorrow. I don't really want to release them separately tho. weaksauce12
your instructions are so easy who needs video... Thx 4 everything... Well the instruction manual is 63 pages long...it's a little bit easier to get your feet wet by watching the video than by reading the guide from beginning to end If no one has any objections, I'd like to hold off for one more day (eek!). I've been staring at this guide waaaaay too long and need to do a good final scrub on it tomorrow, as well as figure out the rest of the video stuff. nintenno
ok so i have a pretty great install (im spoiled i guess) my radeon 2600 pro works fine with natit and device id inseted into the right kext my sound works great my wifi card works (except when using a dsdt.aml, just took that out and used a disabler.kext) but the one thing i never got working was sleep my machine simply wont wake up when i press the on switch the drives and fans start up but i cant get anything to show up on screen and im pretty sure its not working because i cant ssh in from another machine ive tried numerous bios settings on my d3sl to get it to work, but it just wont could this be because of my video card? so any ideas on getting sleep to work i have 10.5.5 and 10.5.6 vanillla installs ready to go (and the real kicker is that the other machine i own with the same exact board sleeps fine-but it has a nvidia graphics) so help please!!! You have a 2600 too? we need to talk! For the longest time I thought my LCD was garbage bceause these weird diagonal lines moves across the screen (it is very subtle and only noticeable with certain colors/contrasts). However, yesterday I was redoing my machine and realized that they didn't show up until I added natit to my installation. I've also noticed that if I use VGA they go away, but my machine won't boot up correctly when running via VGA (the dvi->vga adapter that came with the gpu) and the text is also blurry, which is probably why you can't see the lines......... ANYWAY, do you see theese lines ony our screen and if not could you please provide me with exactly how you went about installing your gpu to avoid the problem? thx
nintenno
i dont get diagonal lines but i do get vertical ones during the boot screen and for some reason it won't display the correct resolution unless natit is installed its always cutting off the right and left sides but oh well with natit and device id insterted into the right kext it works fine now if i could only get device properties strings to work with that (EFI strings) but does your machine wake from sleep well? mine cant do it no matter what i do

If I make any progress with them I'll post back! All cool here... but take 5 minutes to clean out ya message folder, I think all 250,000 registered members have PM'ed ya this week... Haha I gave up on the PM box. It fills up daily with PMs, I can't keep up To everyone: Well I had another busy day and haven't gotten around to finishing the video, but here's a link to the package (includes the guide) if you wanna give it a go: (~130mb zipped) http://www.######.com/weaksauce12/files/DS3Lkit.zip The video is simply a quick walkthrough of the install process, so if you can read you'll be fine. The guide is in PDF format and is in the "Guides" folder. It's named "Leopard Soup 2.0". The Leopard installation section starts on page 17. I still have some work to do to clean it up, but it's very usable as-is right now. The dual-boot section is non-existent, but I'll add that later when I experiment with it again. Print out the Checklist starting on page 54 if you're doing the DVD install. Some tips: ***** Don't use Migration Assistant or a Time Machine restore from your Hackintosh! It will copy over the Hackintosh sub-systems and ruin your BOOT-132 install!!! ***** 1. You'll need a P35 DS3L board (EP35 or P35 Rev 1 or 2) 2. You'll need a 10.5.5-compatible video card & driver 3. 55+ drivers are supported out of the box (see page 51); avoid 512mb if you can (just because it's listed doesn't *necessarily* mean it's supported) 4. Make sure your BIOS settings are EXACTLY the same as mine! Make sure you have the minimum BIOS version requirement! 5. So far it's not 10.5.6-compatible 6. Make sure your boot drive & DVD drive are plugged into Ports 0 & 1 (the first two SATA ports near the memory slots) 7. IDE isn't supported (causes intermittent Kernel Panics & other problems) 8. Sometimes the v1.2 Uinstaller app won't copy over the DSDT file if it's to a secondary hard drive - don't worry, it's not needed for .6 9. PS/2 keyboard and mice ARE supported, enjoy (PS/2 can also wake the system from sleep, but USB can't!) If you find any errors or things that need clarification, please let me know and I will make the appropriate changes. Happy holidays and thanks for putting up with the delays! Let me know how your install turns out! There's a Troubleshooting guide on page 58 if you run into problems!

weaksauce12
Thanks WeakSauce12 for all your hard work! I'll try to setup a plugin for my EX38-DS4 board and share with everyone...kit is still downloading! Cool Man! John V I'm releasing a basic Developer's Guide for BOOT-132 in a few days. Basically: 1. Research the appropriate kexts & other special software for your machine (such as Taruga) 2. Compile kexts into an Extensions.mkext file using the Extensions tool 3. Use DSDT tool to patch DSDT (although this doesn't look as required as we all thought it would be) 4. Create a BootCD using the SlimbuildCD tool 5. Create a Plugin using the Uinstaller tool 6. Use the BootCD & Universal OSx86 Installer to install Leopard to your system 7. Put it through the paces (testing checklist) Pretty easy idea...all your job consists of is finding the appropriate drivers for your system. Then bing-bang-boom, you've got a complete tool set ready to be distributed

That's why I made a guide The procedure basically goes like this: 1. Install Leopard 2. Install Uinstaller (bootlaoder + drivers) 3. Install 601mb 10.5.5 Combo Update + latest updates (but not 10.5.6) 4. Install Special Drivers (Kexts in Uinstaller) & Taruga (these work after 10.5.5 & the Security Update) 5.
