I have mi Hackintosh running on a mobo Asus P5QC... the ethernet onboard seems difficult to get it working, so i've tried with an PCI Ethernet (Realtek 8139D chipset).

Does anybody know how can i have internet working?!??!!? because it seems that the OS didn't recognize the ethernet board.

This is the only problem i have with this mobo.

If you mean that it hangs while shutting down: yeah i have that too on my P5Q-deluxe. 'Solution' for me is to chose 'restart' instead of 'shutdown' and then when it is at the BIOS screen again, just shut it down manually, since 'restart' always works somehow, it's just 'shutdown' that doesn't.

Yeah thats the problem I have. I have noticed the same thing but was hopping there was a fix since its kind of annoying to have to do that haha.

@ BiTRiP

Are you getting slow hard drive recognition speeds? Especially for installations? Everytime i go to install something it takes like a minute or two, rather than a few seconds, to find the hard drive to install it on. What's more, sometimes it doesn't find it at all and i have to close the installer and open it again. Same goes for my SATA part on About this Mac, and for Disk utility

It's just strange, maybe it's because i'm running on a generic AHCI kext?

I'm from Brazil and to using Google to translate into English, so sorry for the English.

The ECS P45T-A works fine the Leopard? To thinking of buying one, most wanted to know if the drivers of HD ICH10R and Jmicron 361 are functioning perfectly.

Also, I wonder if the SOM ALC883, and the Network Atheros L1 normal aging.

If you have everything working I will buy my!

I see there is a new bios version available from Asus for the plain P5Q (1501). I was wondering if someone here could mod that bios for OSX.

If someone is interested in installing Mac OSX on ASUS P5Q just P5Q no Suffix included can visit my topic http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=137296

... this Bios was accepted by ezflash and seems perfectly stable...

@sneaky

Give this new one a try... I used fassl's patcher to fix some additional issues, including IRQ and HPET. I have included the mods to the Asus 0502 bios for the P5Q3 motherboard. I also included the DSDT.aml file, so that you can do the Chameleon method if you prefer.

enjoy, Cap

Hello, this is my first post so sorry if my question is any silly to the experienced users..

I have just installed Kalyway to my P5Q3 mobo after flashing a modded rom I found in this thread.

The problems I experience are:

1) My screen resolution can only be 1024x768 (no other option appears) (nVidia 8600 GT)

2) When I press "More Info" to view if OsX is detecting my hardware the application crashes

Could you please tell me where to check for a solution to this?

Thanks in advance

I have just installed Kalyway to my P5Q3 mobo after flashing a modded rom I found in this thread.

Does that happen to be the P5Q3 DELUXE WIFI? or the P5Q3, that does not have integrated wifi?

Clicking on that link probably activates some hardware driver(kext) that queries the states of one or more pieces of hardware, when it returns an invalid reply, the app crashes. That is just my guess however....

Here I go. Taking the plunge.

Ill love you if it works.

EDIT: Works perfect! Booted into Tiger, but I got no ethernet or sound.

I installed Kalyway and I now have ethernet, but still no sound.

There were no problems with the BIOS flash, all went well.

Thank you so much!

I'm a regular noob that visits here quite often. I am in the process of installing Iatkos 4.1. With BITRIP's modded bios I no longer have to use the cpus=1. So far so good. The only problem is that I have the apple screen with the no smoking sign on the initial boot. Typing -v seems to show(highlighted in yellow) that I have an issue with appleahci kext or something.

my specs are

Foxconn p45-a

q6600

8gigs of gskill ram

2 ATI HD3850(running 1 for now)

Tunique Tower Cooler

3 maxtor sata HD

1 lite on sata dvd drive

I have reinstalled OSX and the problem is solved. I believe this is due to the fact that I installed the SATA drivers different, I now installed that AHCIFix.1.3_cVaD.dmg package instead of AHCIFixv2.zip.

Hey Folks,

I'm not doing so much with bios modding anymore because of the great solution from Mackerintel, Chameleon and Fassl to have a bootloader with DSDT override, so the biosmod is not needed anymore. Great work!

Because some people are still doing it "the old" way and I was in a good mood I modded the latest bios for P5Q3. ;-)

I don't have time to do all your requests. Sorry.

Good luck with this one!

Hello Spyrus71...I just search in forums and find this from a user name Karmaloco:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...2033&st=620

He hsa the same motherboard with you!!!Take a look

I finally could run iDeneb v1.3 (Leopard 10.5.5) on my PC!!!

These are my specs.:

mobo ASUS P5QC

processor Intel Core2 Duo E7200 2.53MHz

mem Kingston DDR2 2GB 800MHz

hdd Samsung 320GB 7200rpm 16MB Cache (with 2 partitions for MAC)

hhd2 Samsung 750GB 7200rpm 32MB Cache (with 2 partitions for WinXP)

video XFX Nvidia 8600GT 512MB DDR2

I put my SATA in AHCI, flashed my BIOS from an USB Stick (Thanks BITRIP for the modd!!!), and WORKS!!!

Restart WORKS!

Shutdown WORKS!

Sleep WORKS!

AUDIO WORKS! (I installed the p45audio.zip, that contains 2 packages... i installed both)

LAN NO (it seems that there's no drivers available yet for mi lan onboard, so i will go with a PCI ethernet compatible)

Just 2 questions:

1) Can I get Dual Boot this way???

I realized that if i installed XP before change the AHCI mode, i have the possibility to dual boot

2) Is SATA in AHCI mode bad when i'm in windows????

NO if I were intalled Windows under this mode.

I wish it would help you until BitRip answers to our question

Here's the summary of my hackintosh set up based on Asus P5Q3 Deluxe wifi :

Post #153 in this same topic

If you follow this, you can't go wrong. Of course, you are free to experiment with other settings. At least this one works.

After that post I've managed to get some of the components working that didn't at that time:

- Basic Sound, no HD no mic :(

- IDE support

- QE/CI support for Nvidia 9600 GT

- Only lower LAN port Marvell 88E8056 works (with insertion of DEVid in AppleYukon2.kext's plist, inside IONetw...kext)

Hola! :D

Right now the iDeneb 1.3 setup ended. I INSTALLED IT WITHOUT SATA DRIVES (oh, well, only the Hard Disk was a Sata one. The two DVD are PATA).

I patched my bios with the lastest version (1406, Asus P5Q-E), I set "AHCI mode" for that Sata hard disk and I restarted my pc with the iDeneb DVD in.

Well, I wrote "-x -v -legacy" and the installation started.

My ATA controller was named "UNKNOWN VIAATA CONTROLLER" and I hadn't the "normal" "still waiting for root device", so the DVD writer (an old LG GSA4163B) was the "root device", without patches. It worked also on Kalyway 10.5.2.

I formatted the hard drive, patched and installed some applications and OSX works perfectly! The only thing I can't use right now is the graphic card, Radeon HD 4850. Hope for a better future! :D:D

Is there any way to get this working on a P45 chipset without requiring a BIOS flash?

I have an Asus P5Q-Pro and an ATI 4870, I'm waiting for the 4870 drivers to be finished though.

Still, I don't want to flash the board when the drivers do work, seems a bit crazy!
