Donations are not needed, this community helps eachother for free I hope. (unless you make me rich in once ;-) )

Anyway, here is you new modded bios.

Enjoy.

Thanks for helping me out!

The earlier bios you helped me out with was the initial bios for this board and it had some

stabillity issues with my qx9650.

Now with this newer bios and by your excellent bios modding skills I hope they are gone.

Thanks again, appreciate it a lot!

Regards

Allsop

Hi!

I was trying to install OSX 10.5.4 on my P45 chipset:

config

Intel Q6600

Asus P5Q-E (bios 0803 modded)

2GB RAM

Radeon HD4850

2 SATA I hard disks (not in RAID mode)

2 PATA 133 DVDs

But I've the error "waiting for root device".

After reading this thread, I bought two PATA to SATA converters for my DVD units:

Do you think Mac will install with this?

What should I do?

BiTRiP I understand but do at least thank you for the effort... really.

I contacted ASUS to even ask them to open that bios up - but they dont becuase to "protect the user from themselves"

P.S.

I know you can't guarantee fixing my asus m70vm bios, but i wanted to at least thank you for replying... I been on these forums since August 17th and you are the only person who even attempted to help or could I should say.

So at least wanted to thank you for helping the community.

As promised here are some new mods!

CAUTION: I'm not sure if the Asus m70vAS bios will work as I can't test it myself. Try at own risc! It can damage your BIOS so you are not able to startup anymore!! (in that case you need new bioschip for around $10 or more expensive repair in case its soldered)

The other two should be safe to use.

BiTRiP

EDIT: m70vAS mod removed. See THIS post where I made a ReMod and is tested as good working mod.

It's not specially P45 related but for working with multiple cores.

Asus writes aliases in their bios for each core. That needs to be removed in order to get osx86 booted.

BiTRiP

so, if someone make driver for ich10r chipset, anyway need a moded bios?

thx for answers

BiTRiP, sir you are the man, the asusm70vm WORKS and boots most flavors of 10.5.4 ideneb but not jas, BUT new issue and i guess this is where it sucks to make the choice...

Vista and XP - cant boot get BSOD, says not fully ACPI compliant... this sucks man, I really wanted a dual boot. man o man...

but you did fix the core issue and booting issue, and ideas? besides use the NORMAL bios? lol

@dandaman,

Good to hear to bios works and so does OSX now. Did you try 132-boot with vanilla OSX??

Too bad Vista/XP doesn't work now but I think this is not bios related. Did you try a new install of Vista/XP or tried to boot up installed version?

The BSOD gives an error 0x0000007B STOP error atthe bottom?

@Antec,

What do you want to work about ICH10R?

My board which is also ICH10R works as "Unknown AHCI Standard Controller", I changed the plist so profiler says ICH10R now, but thats only cosmetic.

You think there advatages if there are special drivers for it?

Hey Bitrip I think it is, because in the BIOS i can not change anything different, the current installation cant boot because the partitioned osx damaged the bootloader, so I was going to boot with the vista DVD and thats when i get the NOT FULLY ACPI compliation BIOS BSOD with 0x000000045a and thats it - XP boot disc crashes too...

Any ideas on that?

by the way thanks for the timely replies!!!

will try right now...

Ok reflash to that ORIGINAL bios and presto - VISTA boots...

and mac osx does not...

OK after the ORIGINAL BIOS was restored, VISTA booted from HD and BOOT DISC, so did XP - but i put back the MODDED one and same issues... So WINBLOWS hates the modded ACPI as OSX hates the original...

fun fun...

I know this thread turned into a Bios modding one, but I thought I would share that I quite easily managed to upgrade to 10.5.5 (from Kalyway 10.5.2 > 10.5.3 CU) using the system updater. All I did was delete the appleintelcpumanagement kext (the problematic one) as soon as it appeared in root>system>library>extensions folder. Voila! 10.5.5

The ONLY problem is that if you click on System Info and then More Info, nothing seems to show up it states something about an error obtaining the information.

Who knows. But it works just the same!
