ambaker
I've looked through the guides, and I've also tried google. Perhaps I've overlooked it, and if so I apologize. I'm trying get set up OS-X on my HP Pavilion Multimedia m8430f, with no success. Processor is the Intel Core Duo Quad Q6600, graphics is NVIDIA 8500 GT. Motherboard is by ASUS (Benicia) Chipset is G31/33 P31/35. Southbridge is Intel 82801R. Bios is American Megatrends. 4 gigs Ram. Sound is Realtek. Network card is Realtek 8168C/8111C. Any help, pointers to a guide, or other info that might get it going, would be gratefully appreciated. So far I have managed to get virtual appliance version running under VMware, but sound is choppy at best, and it is slow. Thanks! -alex Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111900-which-one-might-work-for-me/ Share on other sites
Nekko
I have the same comp and haven't had any real luck yet. With kalyway 10.5.2 i was able to get through the installation process after typing in "-x -v cpus=1" (minus the qoutes of course) other wise it would just auto reboot after loading the cd. Now it freezes on the reboot after installation regardless of what options i choose. Does anyone have any ideas? oh and it freezes on the: MAC Framework successfully initialized using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111900-which-one-might-work-for-me/#findComment-859924 Share on other sites

PRGUY85
Well, Im trying to install OSX on an old HP DV1315cl laptop. Only config that gets me ahead of loading screen after install is Voodoo Kernel 9.5.0+Chipset Driver+Seatbelt.kxt. Yet, I get a blue screen and nothing else. Any ideas? MithrilFox
Have you tried installing from a retail Leopard DVD using the BOOT-132 method? I really believe that if you can do it, this is the best method. Exactly how far have you gotten and what remains non-functional? ambaker
OS X 10.5.5 (iAtkos V5i got me running) is loaded on my m8430f. I did have to mod the bios to get things to work. So far I have not seen any issues with the modded bios. Video card is at full resolution, OS X is running off an external USB to IDE drive. Network card is working. What is missing is: Sound. So far I have not found/installed a Realtek driver for the sound card. Wifi: Not a big deal, it's a desktop and Cat 6 cable to the router. But would be nice just for grins. TC/Radio: Even lower priority. I do not use it under Vista either. Modem: Not even interested, except maybe to say I did. I do not have dial-up internet access, and would probably slit my wrists, if I was forced to go back to it.
