James3512
Dear all, My names is James and I am new here. At the moment I'm trying to install Leopard on my AMD machine. A lot of you guys are experts I'm sure. I'm not very familiar with apple and leopard so excuse me for my stupid questions... As I said I want to install Leopard. Therefore I've download a leopard DVD (unfortunatly not shure anymore which version). My hardware is: Motherboard: Asus K8V-SE Deluxe, CPU: AMD 64 3000+ (SSE2, checked with CPU-Z), 2 gb of ram (2x 512mb crusial memory and 1 x 1Gb allso crusial), Club3D Nvidia Geforce 6600GT AGP graphiccard and an old 20 gb IBM harddisk to try leopard. If it works fine, I'll buy a seperate harddrive for leopard. What i've done so far: I've booted from dvd and formatted my harddrive as apple structure (the second lowest option in formatting) and installed leopard. After installing I have to reboot, which goes just fine. After reboot I see a sort of movie with welcome to leopard X. After that I have to register, tell what time it is and what my location is. When this all is finished, the registration is complete and all I see is just a nice blue backgroudscreen; 1024*768 @ 60Hz. This blue background screen stays there, but I don't see any log-in screen or apple tools... Where did I go wrong? Can someone please help me? I would really appreciate that. Thanks! Greetings James. kytzu
Probably you have choosen a wrong NVinject version for your card, try first to remove it: - press F8 while booting to get the darwin boot prompt - type -s as boot option - /sbin/mount -uw / as described before OS prompt - cd /System/Library/Extensions - rm -R NVinject* or rm -R Natit* or rm -R Titan* depends what inject method you used Then reboot and you shold have stansard 1024x728 res and no graphic acceleration Then check on nvinject forum the specific instructions for your card and install the correct injector. If still NOK, reinstall OSX and don't tick any graphic driver at installation customization menu. James3512
Hi kytzu, Thanks for your fast reply! I tried all your code stuff. Didn't work... I'm now going to reinstall Leopard without graphic drivers as you said! I'll keep you updated. Greetings, James P.s. If my NVinject version is wrong, is it possible that I saw the Leopard movie?? Because I did see that! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111082-leopard-worksallmost/#findComment-786904 Share on other sites
kytzu
same issue for me, I can see the movie at first boot on my NVS 140M but I can't install any nvinject yet. If your card have 512 NVRAM than you have to flash it as well following the instructions on nvinject forum. However you can change the resolution by editing /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist and adding smthg like: <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x800x32</string> or other res Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111082-leopard-worksallmost/#findComment-786954 Share on other sites
