verdant
V1.4a froze with less then a minute left. Used the kernel for nforce. All other options left the same. How did 10.5.3 Updater v1.4b work out for you......?
Genseric
@ericp: you didnt need to replace old one, u just needed to add your device id and couple of others to the plist of the driver, and there it should have worked... Mysticus, I did that too but it didn't work. I always change the plist of the AppleYukon2.kext to reflect my device id in previous versions and they always work except for this one. Any ideas? I have exactly the same problem. My hackintosh works very well since long monthes. I tried the Mysticus updater everything went good but the network. I've got a Asus P5E with an integrated Yukon2 NIC. In the previous version (10.5.0, 10.5.1 and 10.5.2) the NIC works well after changing the ID in the AppleYukon2.kext info.plist file (as showed ther :http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...80&hl=yukon) . So after patching my hackintosh, the NIC didn't work anymore. (I've tried the vanilla 9.3 kernel and the default kernel) As Ericp did, I've change the ID and I've tried to replace the IONetworkingFamilly.kext by the backuped (and working)kext. But it still doesn't work. It seems Ericp find a solution with Mysticus. Could you explain the solution. Thank you
lateralusman
How did 10.5.3 Updater v1.4b work out for you......? Installed it with the default kernel and NVinject 512MB other settings left the same. Installer finished, clicked the restart button but as it was showing the mac shutdown screen it just staid there with the mac loading sphere spinning and my mouse wouldn't move. Thanks! Hi there The following solution has worked for me: (Taken from http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...989&st=580) QUOTE (nigelbb @ Mar 26 2008, 02:59 PM) I just found the same problem. I am surprised that more people haven't noticed this or maybe they are all installing on their one & only computer & have no server to connect to:-) There is an error in a symbolic link /System/Library/Filesystems/afpfs.fs You can check this from Terminal with this command:- ls -l /System/Library/Filesystems/afpfs.fs If it shows something like this then there is a problem as the link should be to /System not just System:- lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 49 Mar 25 12:22 /System/Library/Filesystems/afpfs.fs -> System/Library/Filesystems/AppleShare/afpfs.kext To fix this in Terminal enter these commands sudo rm /System/Library/Filesystems/afpfs.fs sudo ln -s /System/Library/Filesystems/AppleShare/afpfs.kext /System/Library/Filesystems/afpfs.f Before each command executes you will be prompted for your password. I had a look inside the packages on the Leo4ALLV2 disk & the error is present there so I guess that it's something for Eddie to fix for V3 plus add to the Known Issues http://osx86leo4all.wikidot.com/known-issues ENDQUOTE
beyondtool1
Worked like a charm for me. However it did take like ages for the last part of the install. It said 2 minutes to go for over half an hour. Be patient, it will get there! I forgot to add the nvidia options, so I reinstalled the update over itself and it picked up my nvidia 8800GTS with no problems after reboot. Installing 10.5.4 direct from apple as I type this. *Update* 10.5.4 crashed my install when rebooting. System hosed. Had to reinstall Kallyway 10.5.2 and then updated back to 10.5.3. Euthenics
The Updater v1.4b works fine on Intel Mobo 955XBK with Pentium D and HP 6510b, updating from Kalyway 10.5.2. Did not not encounter the Connect to Server command problem. On a another matter, Apple's combo update 10.5.4 caused kernel panic but delta update works fine. verdant
i m writing this from far far away from home... people who ae experiencing the keyboard mouse issue are using ps/2 keyboard or they are on laptops... the issue persists bcoz in a normal installation you are installing patched drivers for ps/2! if you guys know exactly which drivers you are/were using before it is very easy to replace those files... the reason why it doesnt work is obvious.... lack of knowledge.... why i didnt put those files is bcoz I dont use ps/2 kb/mouse and dont know exactly which files are involved... I asked people here to tell me those kind of patches but noone really answered back correctly... or no full explanation of details... therefore i m not able to fix those problems... kalyway works for some of you better bcoz it uses older files that ae working... i dont have many people around me to tell me or test packages with enough knowledge... kalyway does ... for the suids to reappear... i dont know why it does... bcoz i did fix permissions 3 times in a row and didnt have any problems but i ll check those issues when i come back home... also 10.5.4 update released much earlier than expected... funny... i ll take a look at it as well... lets see how it is gonna work out... when i come back home... 10.5.4 sounds to me like a rushed update for iphone 3g launch... apple doesnt bring an update package that quickly... Mysticus C*
iatkos 2.0 installations will have problem in original updates and kalyway update as well... i didnt check the packages in iatkos 2.0 but what i can see from the error log from haxi's PM, is that iAtkos is using different package names than the original names, such as BSD, BaseSystem, Essentials etc... from the error log, these pkgs dont seem to be found therefor cant be updated... as a result, u will have suid errors... Mysticus C*
thanx for the feedback haxi... just as a reminder, iatkos 2.0i is using differently named packages when installing system files, as it looks like, bcoz update receipts cant be found on the correct package names... therefore it is causing trouble when updating the system... and all acl and suid errors are expected... not only on this update, but also on any update package such as kalyway jas or original apple update will give the same results on iatkos 2.0i ... me@home
thank you ! I did install your 10.5.3 pkg on both of my computers (stand alone + notebook) - both working fine even after the Apple 10.5.4 Delta. Always have chosen Vanilla, now worinkg Darwin 9.4 (orig. one not mod bin). Had my notebook crushed with iAtkos 2.0i + Kalyway 10.5.3 and once more with your 10.5.3 - read here about it and re - installed using Leo4all V3. Fine all working now, LAN was difficult on my mobo - but now also working. Lan on the notebook HP not working but when wifi is who needs Lan ? ericp
10.5.4 Delta Update failed on my machine. I tried Standard Install, 9.4.0 and 9.3.0 Vanilla kernels. Using iATKOS v1.0ir2 + Mysticus 10.5.3 v 1.3 (everything working fine except SUID errors)
Mysticus C*
10.5.4 Delta Update failed on my machine. I tried Standard Install, 9.4.0 and 9.3.0 Vanilla kernels. Using iATKOS v1.0ir2 + Mysticus 10.5.3 v 1.3 (everything working fine except SUID errors) instead of saying failed, i would love to see installer log and after that can tell what went wrong... suid errors should not exist but if it does, it means you have some improper naming in installation packages... iatkos 2.0i is confirmed to use improper names therefore suid errors normal but didnt hear about v1ir2... my 10.5.3 update package on 1ir2 has suid errors? if so can u provide me the 10.5.3 install log on 1.0ir2 as well? bcoz it sounds like you either using earlier version of 10.5.3 update of mine, or 1ir2 also has improper naming...?? i suggest you to have fresh kalyway 10.5.2 install and do 10.5.3 update 1.4b and 10.5.4 delta update...
