Wonderful packages inside. I think it's nice to split that way as it makes it fast to download.

I saw the Intel GMA 900 series which I presume should work with Intel GMA 950.

Are there any GMA X3100 drivers which is needed coz I did not saw any inside??

The addition of XNU Kernels packages is superb. So far so good on an Intel Atom (single core) mobo.

Will test on other mobo systems later.

Hello Mysticus C*,

I downloaded your zip file, it has 3 directories, __MACOSX, PostStage, PrepareStage. So I installed, preparestage, and then installed 10.5.5 update and in the middle of the update, there is a panic and asked me to reboot and now the system does not boot. I have EVGA 680i, used iATKOS v1.0i r3 to install 10.5.1 ( using your other nForce post). Please help.

Interesting (See sig for complete specs)

First time I installed I forgot to customized the second combo updater, just hit next was not paying attention...

Worked and booted but with default kernel and really slow... updated.

Had to reinstall.

Second time around, it panics during the second combo update... and panics on restart.

Strange I know.

Everything was the same on second attempt because it was timemachine clone. i dont get it.

Mysticus C*,

Thanks for the helpful package. I had to stop my installation last night because I couldn't get past the Apple screen loading. Should that boot up take an exceptionally long time?

I set my bios to AHCI before the install - normally I have AHCI disabled so I can run XP from a different HDD.

My selections:

Kernel: 9.5 Vanilla

Chipset: ICHX-AHCI

Graphics: NVidia NVINJECT 256 MB

Audio: Just restore

Network: Just restore

SMBIOS:yes

USB Controller: yes

AppleACPI: Yes

Experimental: Yes

My rig:

Kaly 10.5.4

Gigabyte P35C-DS3R

Q6600 @ 2.4 ghz

GeForce 7300 GS 256 MB

Kingston 4 GB 800 mhz RAM

Wireless: TrendNet wireless-N PCI

SATA HDD: Leopard/Test Leopard (two partitions)

SATA HDD: XP

PIONEER DVR-213NP

Logitech USB keyboard/Mouse

Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

Thank you so much i have spent over a week performing failed upgrades and restoring my system just to break it again. These files worked perfect. After upgrade i lost Trackpad and Keyboard. I had to plug in USB stuff and use the files i found on this site to fix that then i lost battery meter, which i also fixed with files found on this site.

Have yet to install the files though. I'll post my experience after my update. I'm using iatkos 4i distro BTW.

 Mysticus C*

Thank you for the great package, I just have a few questions.

My Rig

  • Mobo : P5Q
  • CPU : Core 2 Duo E8500
  • RAM: HyperX DDR2 - 1GB x 2
  • GFX: 8800GTS (640MB)
  • HHD: 80GB Sata

If used a flat image of osx 10.5.0 ( mach_kernel - darwin 9.0.0 ) if tried using the vanilla kernel 9.5 but after the update it just reboot the machine before getting to apple boot screen. ToH kernel gets me to the boot screen restarts and then after that gives me kernel panic  (AppleACPIPLatform)

*edit* It seem that the dsmos script doesn't complete and send a kill signal.

Any ideas would be really help full.

Thank you,

n0n3

have you tried the ps2 fix in system func in post update?

Honestly cant remember now if i did choose that or not, this was the first update i had break the ps2 so i wasn't expecting it. I was more worried about just booting up after update and not having my video screwed up.

One problem i do have is shutting down, when i shut down it goes through the routine then tells me i have to hold down the power button to shutdown, and reboot doesn't work but these are problems iv had since the initial install so i learned to live with them. It would be nice to correct them though.

Anyone else get a gray no-entry like sign when they're on the apple screen? Does this mean that it's doing its job or do I have to reinstall?

Kaly 10.5.2

Asus P5K-E Wifi Ap

Q6600 @ 3.0 ghz

GeForce 9800 GTX 512 MB

Corsair 4 GB 800 mhz RAM

neew: read the damn answer!!! i asnwered you in post#1336 !!!!!!! you keep posting the same thing again and again!

mvjster: why dont you use 9.4.0 stagexnu, why is everyone is so frignning crazy to use vanilla kernel? when you dont know the consequences of using it...

i will try not to reply to newcomers anymore if you dont follow steps for how to report errors/problems... because newcomers do not follow guides, or do not follow rules for how to ask for help..... no hardware info... no steps info (what you have done) no proper problem description... and expect help... some of the problems are related really being noob, and not knowing what you are doing...

for example, there is a misconception and lack of knowledge about using vanilla kernels, regarding when where and how it can be used... or what is customization of installation? or how to follow a step by step guide... people dont read a line, and jump to last page, and start flooding with help messages....

Mysticus, my apologies for what is likely a stupid question ... but ... what is the difference between the 9.5 vanilla kernel and the 9.4 stagexnu? The stigma around the vanilla (at least from a relatively new persons point of view) is that it can do updates direct from Apple Update while others cannot. Is this true in this case or can the stagexnu kernel do updates as well? Maybe if you explained the difference people wouldnt be so apt to use the vanilla one:)

BTW, the 1.1.3a updates of your worked flawlessly on my test partiiton except one error, startup item /library/startupitems/shutdownfix does not have the proper security settings. I just clicked "Fix" and it worked fine.

I've just booted up in verbose mode and I found that it was hanging at "Still waiting for root device". From my read through previous posts I though this issue had been rectified? Unless I've messed up badly somewhere.
