is intel pro 1000L using patched drivers inside ionetworkingfamily? or its own driver?

also have you tried restore network option?

thanx for feedback by the way ;)

intel pro 1000 L is using patched drivers inside ionetworkingfamily.kext plugins. I added device id (109a) in AppleIntel82....kext plist. Actually ethernet was not working in Jas 10.5.4 Server, ionetworkingfamily.kext I added later.

IONetworkingFamily.kext.zip

boot with -v, and get the screen caps of all the screen shots...

i dont know why people love to choose vanilla kernel? it has problems if not used patched additions, and better to choose 9.4.0 xnu instead...

also why do you have pcgenusb2 patch? guess it s from kalyway 10.5.2 (which i think done unprofessionally, because it is selected by default, and majority of the people dont have that issue...) use the usb 2.0 fix in the update as well to get rid of pcgenusb problem. have you tried nvinject instead of nvkush...?

also check your bios for AHCI (not the IDE Compatible mode) enabled for your sata ports?

dreamland: did you try the restore network option in the update package? also is the linked one current working one in 10.5.5?

Mysticus, a but off topic here but you would seem to be the guy to ask ... If I wanted to follow your guide for creating a test install, but put said install on either another internal HDD or USB HDD, how would I got about gaining access to it? You mentioned you would need the bootloader. Can you use OSX86 Tools to install EFI on said drive and then access it (and in theory, would this also not be an effective way to create a rescue backup so in the event your main system goes down you could use diskutility to restore it)?

I'll do try to make a photo of the errors, but the ones i found are stated in my first post.

I tried NvInject, but it didnt work for me. I couldnt choose the right resolution, and i had a bad result in xbench.

The AHCI is on.

And how do i use the usb 2.0 fix if i can't boot?

you can always use switches like mach_kernel rd=diskXsY (disk number X=0,1,2,3..., and partition number Y=1,2,3...) at boot, and use the same guide, for restoring, but those other internal or usb hdds wont boot by themselves... but can use your current working one to boot them off :) if you wanna add bootloader later to those others, that are either another internal or usb hdd, using osx86tools, but make sure you install bootloader while you booted to your main partition, because say you booted to your other hdd using rd=diskXsY, you cant install bootloader into same partition you booted, due to installing bootloader process requires unmounting of the partition, which you cant in that scenerio, bcoz you are alreadying working on it? it is like trying to plug off your hdd taht you are using...:)

great i will play around with it today! thanks!

EDIT: Well diskutil 1-1 cop with efi install no worky for booting standalone, but works fine for test install .. i just need to get a 1-1 copy to be bootable so i can restore from that in the event of a complete crash

Hope you can see anything on it, my camera isnt that good

1) disable the jmicron controller. and connect your hdds to on-board ICHx controller, if ahci set, system shoudl boot and everything should work...

make sure you check these settings next time:

Kernel: 9.4.0 StageXnu

CHipset: ICHx AHCI

Audio: Restore

Network: Restore

Video: use nvinject/640 mb

System func: smbios, macpro, and usb 2 fix

khera: if you provide your hardware profile in your signature, and tell us what you have chosen, in last step, we may track down the problem...

Msyticus, alot of people seem to have this same issue, they get to the screen and it just stalls ... like i said before, if i lag there for 3 minutes or so the desktop does eventually come up. any idea what might be doing this? I will edit this post and let you know how it goes with 1.13 patches on my test partition.

I use NVInject 320MB, 9.5 van kernel, restore audio/net, smbios, macpro

justing: need to see the system.log

open terminal

sudo su

pass

cp /var/log/system.log /

it will copy the system.log to your current partition's root compress and send me the file through PM, i ll check what is preventing the login to go smooth...

also have you tried 9.4.0 kernel?

khera: are you using 1.1.2 packages? or 1.1.3 packages? also did you install everything in order as said in first post? 1)pre 2) official 3) post (customized)?

Mysticus! You fine and noble fellow. It occurred to me that it might be an idea to pop a text file - with your instructions and possibly a copy of the 63 pages of questions and answers, so far - into your pre post installer folder. A lot of people will be offline when they install and it might save them, and your very good self, some work if they use Search in TextEdit.

i m not sure, it may very well be you missed somethings in the process... i saw that happened when dsmos is not initialized instead other original one is loaded, causes that problem as well... i suggest you to start with a clean install... like 9.4.0 jas, or 9.2.0 kalyway... and read my guide in post1 regarding brick free system... if u understand that, you will not worry about bricking anytg

make sure you select correct settings: 1.1.3 has new options for test

make sure you follow the order of installation---1)pre (no restart) 2) official (no restart) 3) post (with custom settings) now restart after everything is finished... and wait as usual!!!

if you dont have ahci? choose chipset: ichx non ahci, and

kernel: 9.4.0 stagexnu? or u can test voodoo packages?

audio restore

network restore

video gma 900 (your correct device id version)

smbios mac pro

usb fix

if u ve ps2 keyb/mouse choose ps2 fix

should be good to go this time...

rocco: learn how to post/request help, i m fed up asking people to make hardware profile signature and explaining what you have done, and what you chosen...

no need to close

install pre patch (see successful window, no need to close the window, no restart)

install official update (see successful window, no need to close the window, no restart)

install post patch with correct settings as provided in previous post... and finally finish and u can click the restart option either on the official update window, or from the top apple menu... which ever you like...

make sure you wait patiently, for the next restart.... from official update... before going to gui...

ok i m off to bed now... :)
