First of all thank you for tyour time and effort.

I installed the update without any problem on my desktop HP dx2290.

I only have a small problem with the screen resolution. It give ONE choise only (1024x768).

but the CI/QE are OK.

I tried to go back to old kext from 10.5.4 (which was work perfect) but I got this:

Resolution issue solved but without CI/QE?

Any help ??

I've got ethernet now working with a kext that was emailed to me from a member here.

Still unsure why his backed up IONetworkingFamily.kext works and my working backed up kext didn't work but when I get a chance I'll have a look for differences.

Thanks again to Mysticus for the idiot proof patcher. :(

I ran step 1:Pre-install [No restart], followed by step 2: Official 10.5.5 update. Step 2 did not complete when i got the "Press the power button to restart". Anyone else having this problem? BTW, I have attached my install and system logs. Hopefully, we can identify the problem. In the meantime, i will restore from my backup and try again.

I hope posting log files are legal on this forum.

Thanks in advance

More bad news. I tried updating from 10.5.1 (iATKOSi1.0r3) straight to 10.5.5, following step 1:Pre-install [No restart], followed by step 2: Official 10.5.5 update, but i get a freeze while running the 10.5.5 update (freeze @ 35% progress). No message, just a total system freeze.

I also tried this: I applied Kalyway 10.5.2 update to my 10.5.1 (iATKOSi1.0r3). Then I restarted. Then I tried to apply the 10.5.5 update by following step 1:Pre-install [No restart], followed by step 2: Official 10.5.5 update. Same thing as before, the system freezes totally - this time the progress bar is at 50%.

Anyone else seeing the problem or how to begin finding the problem?

Thanks in advance

Mysticus:

Just want to clarify one thing...

----USB 2 controller fix: (aka pcgenusbehci) this is the latest version of the patch that works well for most cases. This version however uses original naming (AppleUSBEHCI.kext instead of PCGenUSBEHCI.kext in plugins folder)

Can i just get the AppleUSBEHCI.kext from your package (not including the whole IOUSBFamily.kext), and just replace/overwrite it on my existing system (10.5.5) inside the plugin of my IOUSBFamily.kext?

I hate to say that but some of you are really stupid... people who are asking for links, ever read the first post? dont just frigging jump to last page!

bloor and/or firstcolle: please upload the ionetworkingfamily.kext of yours that are working, to somewhere like www.mediafire.com or similar, and give me the link, i asked both of you to upload it and give me the link, and both of you are asking me emails... and didnt receive nothing the whole day, is it not clear what i request/say? if u re not sending me the link, i will not be adding that to the patch and people will be asking and complaining for the network issue on your particular network cards...

I have the exact same problem.

I did a clean install of Kalyway 10.5.2.

Installed the "Prepare for Combo Update". Didn't restart. Then ran the 10.5.5 combo update and got a panic at around 80% of the install.
