to everyone with marvell 88053 (using yukon2 driver) i dont know what the deal is but i will try to make couple of options to test, i dont have that network card, but it seems like restoring from previous version does not help, so it must be related to something else... either another depended file or framework is responsible... we ll see...

firscolle: can you be more specific? what does not work exactly?

I will try to release 1.1.3 patch package tonight, and need testers on that, so i dont know how many of the issues will be solved, but i need people who knows what they are doing, and who has cloned partitions to test! dont wanna be flooded with help help help messages...

i will include the original IOUSBFamily and also an option to revert to older version...

did you choose usb fix in my package in your first update trial? or did you try it after i told you?

also have you tried updating to 10.5.5 without using any patches (but using terminal to remove cpupowermanagement, and dsmos fix in script?)

the first time i don't select usb fix, only after you told me.

i've not tried updating by using terminal... if you want i can try this weekend with a new clean installation

to confirm/understand:

your usb didnt work after first update (without usb fix option)?

your usb didnt work even after usb fix is selected?

if first one is true, you can easily bring back your previous iousbfamily.kext from the backup folder to test and see if it, however if it doesnt work still, i cant speculate more as to usb issues are bios/apple drivers related and specific... there may be an easy or diffucult solution but i dont know...

also you said you can see usb devices mounted and desktop? but not working (or you mean, by seeing in the system profiler only but not on desktop? aka usb devices recognized but not mounted issue) in this case, have changed your kernel independedly yourself?

Thanks Mysticus C* for such a wonderful patch.

Everything worked fine from 10.5.2 to 10.5.2 ....

earlier i explained the steps n procedures i used.

--------------

Now one problem after i tried installing other options. wen i use that USB2.0 Option in there .... it mostly crashes my USB device attached .

Keyboard Mouse , USB SOund Card.. n duting booting gives 3 Errors in Yellow Text

something like ...

The buffer or something.. can be......,wait for 5 seconds before a retry,

After than i can boot from my MAIN Partition .. n reinstall the kexts on TEST Partiton. ( no problems )

BUT -- what causes that problems.

I also tried a Hauppagaue PVR-900 USB card ... before n after the USB patch ..

It is showed in System Profiler -> USB ..but is not detected in EyeTv.

All my other devices USB Storage n Logitech Reciver unit are working on 2.0 ..

Please Help.

----------

Also a Yellow Line about IntelCPUPowerManagemnt.kext not foundor so .. wat does this mean .. n how to remove it from there .

why did you use usb fix option? did you in past have the usb 2 controller issue? or just wanted to try? because if you originally didnt have any problem with usb 2 controller being detected you should not have used the patch...

IntelCPUPowerManagemnt i explained this over and over... people are keep asking about it... the error is caused by the disabler driver, and it is normal to see it! this is needed for safe installing of apple update, which is installed during pre stage...

Ok, as per PM with Mysticus, here's the system specs:

- Intel Q6600

- Foxconn Mars P35 mobo

- eVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB PCIe

- IHCA 8 SATA

- ALC 888 HDA

I did the update is Mysticus suggested, selecting the following: Just restore for audio/network, NVInject 320MB, and I selected the 9.5 vanilla kernel, now i get a black screen once bootup completes. Safe mode graphics come up as blank blue srceen. Screens are not in stanby, just blank.

Mysticus, help!

i suggested you kernel 9.4.0... nvm

does the driver have your device id? what is your device id actually? check system profiler/gfx section in safe mode so we can make sure your device id is in the list...

I presumed safe mode would work as it did last night, but now with a clean install it does not. I just get blank blue screens.

NVInject reports the following ....

<data not shown> for mem size, NVPM = <data not shown> device type "NVDA Parent"

display: family specifc matching fails

Is the 9.4 a vanilla kernel? I wanted to run Vanilla:)

Hi, could someone please help what to do. After i followed the steps of the installation, my machine is constantly rebooting at the beginning of the boot procedure. Even when i start with -v -f i can't read the last message because it is too fast and it reboot immediately.

I would try another kernel (i installed vanilla and 9.4.0) but i dont know the kernel name to type in at the boot prompt.

Any ideas?

My stuff is:

Abit fatality IN9 SLI mobo

Nvidia Geforce 8600 512Mb

Ok, in safe mode I let it sit at the blank screens of blue and finally it went to the desktop ....

heres what I got from profiler

VRAM = 320MB

Chipset = Graphics by NVIDIA

Deivce ID=0x0193

Revision ID=0x00a2

ROM Revision\NVInject 0.2.1

I will try to reboot in normal mode and wait at the blank black screens and see what happens

EDIT #1: Some errors I see on startup in verbal mode

- mDNSResponder - sandbox_init error

- IOKitWaitQuiet timed out waiting to write kernel something something

there was another one right under that one but it goes too fast to tell what it is

EDIT #2: Ok, 3 minutes later I get the desktop up ... below is the report for profilier:

- same as safe mode report except QE/CI work ...

So now I need to figure out what the delay of 3 minutes is all about

IT IS REALLY ANNOYING THAT PEOPLE KEEP SAYING THEY FOLLOWED THE GUIDE BUT THEY DONT STATE WHAT THEY FOLLOWED EXACTLY AND WHAT THEY CHOSED????

IN MOST CASES PEOPLE SAYING THEY FOLLOWED, ARE ACTUALLY CLICKING NEXT NEXT NEXT NEXT, AND BOOM  CUSTOMIZE BUTTON IS THERE FOR A REASON, PLEASE STATE THAT YOU USED CUSTOMIZATION AND EXPLAIN WHAT CHOICES YOU MADE

===============================================

i m trying to finish the last bits of the 1.1.3 revision tonight, and will address some of the issues some of you are encountering... Like always i say, treat it as a test, if possible try these on a test partition, so that you don't complain if things go haywire!

===============================================

Also there are some of you that I know, who doesnt like to listen to what is said, but looking for suggestions to their problems. What is the point of requesting help if you are not gonna follow it or refuse to follow it?

88053 Network (yukon 2 driver) Problem guys, can you provide me your last working yukon2 driver and state what folder it is in?

/S/L/E/Yukon2.kext? or /S/L/E/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/Yukon2.kext?

okay, understood, sorry.

Here is what i have selected:

9.4, 9.5 kernels

NForce-test

NVkush

NVinject / 512 Mb

NVidia GFX fix

USB2 fix

The boot option -s doesn't help me either from getting instant restart. So i assume there is no way to fix this?

ok thank u Mysticus C*. i just tried it USB Fix. for no reason .... juss wanted 2 c wat happens ( if it solves my scenario ). so was chekin...

---------------- An Inteseting scenario ... m unable to understand.

I use Logitech Ex110 Series Keyboard + Mouse ..

I also use a Chinese Make sound card ( Cheap 5$ ) but working.

wen i connect it ( USB Sound Card ) for the first time is recognized as a unknown keyboard .. cancel it .. see in System Prefrences - > Sound .. there is a fully working device. USB Audio ..

but when i reboot .. during verbose Mode

@ line .. MacFramework Sucessfuly initialized

10xxxx Buffer n something...

it halts there ... if i dont press ant key it reboots n if i do ... i juss goes fine .....

i think its due to Keyboard mismatch .. ( B/W EX110 keyboard n Sound Card primarily detected as Keyboard :P )

::::ne solution so that i dont have 2 press a ket everytime .. :(

again thanks in advance n counts on u Mysticus C*
