Just sent you the links. If anyone else needs them, PM me and please stop asking in the topic forum. It's getting cluttered w/ requests. On a side note, the Voodoo XNU 9.5 alpha kernel is out. For people who have updated, you can try it out by downloading it from their XNU Dev page (google it) and installing it by using osx86tools (google it).

Hey Mysticus, any ideas yet why my network has disappeared?

 

no idea yet, i will try to release the new 1.1.3 package, by friday hopefully, will be adding things i said...

 

+ ps/2 (i have tested on my laptop, keyb and trackpad working fine :) )

+ ati 1950 (dunno about this but seems it should work...)

+ hopefully power/restart fix for vanill kernel (only for certain intel chipsets== know that apart from certain intel chipsets, other mobos cannot use vanilla kernel)

+ some other requested minor patches...

+ (experimental mbr efi bootloader installer, in case people wanna use their cloned partition rather than original ones :) .... this is gonna be experimental so no guarantee on it..)

Hello,

 

I'm using a Dell XPS M140 with Jas 10.5.4

Specs:

Processor: Centrino Sonoma Processor SSE2 - 1.86 GHZ

Graphics: 900GM - Working

Audio: Sigmatel 9200 Working

Wifi: Intel 2200B/G-IWI - Working

Ram: 1 GB 533 DDR2

HD: 120 GB - 3 Parition - 80 GB Parition for Leopard

Questions

1. I'm using a XNUStage Kernel. Must I use the XNUStage Kernel in this post update to upgrade?

2. If not(Question 1) , the Processor I'm using a SSE2 Speed step. What Kernel is recommended to use for speedstep, no stuttering in

boot ups.

3. The dell M140 is a laptop, is it recommended to wait for the new package for a with a laptop keyboard and trackpad patch?

4. Will I have my QE/CI enabled and not limited if I do patch it up with the post installer? - 900GMA

i installed the update and the hakintosh work again... but there are 3 problem for me.

 

the network doesen't work (i haven't select the restor network) but i replaced the IoNetworkingFamilt.kext and now work again.

The most important problem is the Usb and the FireWire. Until 10.5.4 their works (the usb not as 2.0 but work) now i can see the olume mounted on usb or firewire, but i can't read/write file.

I try to replace the IoUsbFamilyKext with the old one but nothing...

 

what can i try?

run only post update patch again, and choose

 

kernel: 9.4.0

audio: restore

network: restore

video: (i didnt include ati drivers so fix it by yourself)

system func: smbios - mac pro, usb 2.0 fix (i dont know why you didnt choose it when you know you have this problem)

 

animosity: i m working on a gma 900 solution, so there may/ may not be a fix depending on results ;) currently didnt have too much time to play around... but it was working in 10.5.2 - 10.5.4. now it doesnt work for some reason... trying to figure out...

How did you replace the kext and which one did you replace with?

 

Did you get the backed up kext and install with osx86tools or Kext helper?

 

I've been trying this and cannot for the life of me work out WTF is going on.

 

My Maximus board is very similar to your P5E

i backed up kext and install with osx86tools.

Did your firewire and usb work?? mine mount the volume but is unusable

provide me a link to those 9800 files, i though u said about 9800, that u used efi strings? please provide me a link to the boot.plist as well on top of the 9800 files

 

bloor: calm down and stop nagging me about your network, i said i m gonna take a look at your situation as well, dont have 10 arms and 5 computers and 5 brains... stop nagging, or you are on your own to find a solution...

i did everything according to the guide, but,

during the post update package (i did all the custimazations), when it got to installing "Smbios" i think, I got a grey screen saying i have to "shut down" my computer, i did... and ever since..i got nothing :(

 

please help.

Thanks for the reply..

at stage 3 (the post update patch installation)

customizations used: (if i remember correctly..)

1) kernel 9.5.0 Vanilla kernel

2) chipset ICHx

3) graphics NVIDIA ( i dont remeber if nvkush or NVInject) + NVIDIA GFX fix (because i lost the QE a few months ago when updated to 10.5.3 with kalyway from a 10.5.2 Kalyway install btw..)

4) Audio - just restore

5) Network - just restore

6) smbios + usb 2 controller fix (dont know why i picked that too..)

 

and when installing, almost at the very end (i think it got all the way to the smbios and stopped there) i got the grey screen.

I was asking firstcolle as he has a P5E which is almost identical to my Maximus Formula.

Hi all.

 

My installation of OSX is working pretty fine, but there´s a little issue that is annoying...

 

When Leopard goes to sleep and I wake it up to continue working, my internet connection is lost.

It seems like Leopard doesn´t recognizes the Apple USB Ethernet adapater. So, to make it recognizes the adapter, I have to put it to sleep manually and right after that I push the power button of my PC to wake him up again so everything backs to normal.

 

Does anybody here knows what could be that little problem??

Just finished with a biketown update from 10.5.1 to 10.5.5. All is working except my ethernet ports (Marvell Yukon 88053's)

 

Selected the option to restore my old network in the post-install package.. but no joy. All info in the AppleYukon2 kext looks OK...

 

Any insight would be greatly appreciated
