Tense
you most likely had usb not mounting issue? or related? with pcgenusb2.... it happens on those who mixed up with pcgenusb2 in their system... i m quite sure you dont need anything other than original driver and the correct IOUSBFamily kext in your system (if u installed kalyway 10.5.2 for example with default settings, it has pcgenusb2 driver choosen, which causes working systems to mulfunction or act weird... when it is mixed up with original driver from apple...) check this topic for further info on your problem someone had the same/similar issue with yours... i think it is fixed? just try the installer (usb mount fix) i made for that topic see if it helps... bcoz it replaces original IOUSBFamily.kext from 10.5.2 (make sure you do it before you update to 10.5.2)... or u can grab the IOUSBFamily from my install package and replace it with pacifist after the udpate... @pcgame: are you blind? "==>" what is the arrow pointing at? also warning you that you have amd cpu, u will have lotsa trouble... with this update unless you go discuss what files are needed or decryped b4/after the udpate... No. That issue was fixed. Thanks I am talking about this issue. http://mitglied.lycos.de/thomsmac/RT2500Replug.html
Mysticus C*
No. That issue was fixed. Thanks I am talking about this issue. http://mitglied.lycos.de/thomsmac/RT2500Replug.html hmm thats funny... the guy who did the modification sounds like he didnt really do much... dummy driver is a lame term... if the manufacturer didnt provide the source for the driver it is unlikely that he will disassemble the file himself... which indicates that he most likely copy pasted the same driver and change some settings in info files? (i m just speculating bcoz i dont have the usb dongle neither the files in question that guy looks a bit lame... if i were u, i would report that guy to manufacturer... also if you have any early test copy provide me link to it, so i can compare the original one with this so called dummy... Tense
It was a breeze. Like I had said before I just COULD NOT get the Kalyway 10.5.3Comboupdate from Killing my installation of 10.5.2. I tried to update 3 or 4 times and had to reformat and reinstall all the times. Would Kernal Panic. But, this update worked with NO issues for myself. I have had a couple of freezes. But, I think that is some issue that existed prior. AND you fixed my USB Mounting. I couldn't be more happy. If people aren't reporting it means it works. People only report if there IS problems. Ha ha.

I am pretty sure I know the vendor/dev id's...but how can I be sure? How would I look those up? Through the "About Mac"? I had to pull my system apart because my video card is physically giving me issues. I can put it back together now. So, I haven't been able to check BEFORE asking a stupid question? :) AND... no the driver isn't the problem I think. I used Lingon to write a script that manually loaded the driver file "RT2500USBWirelessDriver.kext". It's the fact that EVEN if the driver is loaded the card STILL has to be unplugged and re-plugged in to get it see the card. If not even with the driver loaded it say "NO DEVICE" in the RT Wireless Utility. The main purpose of the "RT2500USBReplug.kext" was to trick the system into unplugging the card and re-plugging it. Though, to be honest is above my mental capacity to understand. I am just now beginning to understand the way OSX handles drivers. Once again, Thanks for your help Mysticus. UPDATE: Okay...Well I put my card back in. Under USB in "About Mac" it states Wireless-G USB Network Adapter: Removable Media: No Detachable Drive: Yes BSD Name: en1 Version: 0.04 Bus Power (mA): 500 Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec Manufacturer: Cisco-Linksys Mac OS 9 Drivers: No Partition Map Type: Unknown Product ID: 0x000d Vendor ID: 0x13b1
Mysticus C*
@tense: ok, i got your ids, now I will make a small package for you to try... but it test will take time bcoz you are bein online different times of the day... so communication will be problem... i ll pm u the test package and lets see what we can do about it... but i dont want you do send it anywhere before we both agree it is working... once done, hopefully it will help some of you guys... also from your specs (please provide proper details, rather than brand names!, for example, instead of abit bla bla or if u wanna say the name, just add it is nForce 650i CHIPSET! and amount of memory? not the names...) you would say why? I have a one big topic about nforce chipsets and you cant guess how much trouble involved in making everything working in nforce sh!tsets for example, your random freezes? if you have anything more than 2gb memory, you will definitely have random freeze due to 64 bit mode not very well implemented into nforce ata driver (it goes same with jmicron controller/drivers) working with large files, or copying them definetely gives freeze trouble.... also another issue with your mobo is onboard lan as you would know by now bcoz you are using wifi dont even try on board lan, it will give u more pain than gain... Didn't work, it hung right after the firewire with the "still waiting for root device" error ... tried IDE, IDE+AHCI, AHCI, and Legacy, no luck. your osx hdds that you are trying to boot should be on the main intel controller and not the jmicron!!! i didnt add jmicron stuffs... also your intel controller's sata ports should be set to AHCI!!! and not ide or anything... If bios is set correctly for ahci, and your osx boot is not on jmicron, it should work else, please provide me your sata controllers' device/vendor ids so I can see if they are in the list or not... @haxi: prepare update/ main update package and the finalize should be selected, i will check the package and see if there is anything wrong in there... i might have left some things missing working on too many scripts sometimes has wrong effects as well the fix however should not be hard... only replacing one script from the main installer and i ll check and provide the solution... which will be copy and paste of one file and nothing else hopefully...
