xxDriveNxx
Well, this is one problem that I've never seen before. Since the 10.5.3 upgrade seems to have killed off the Natit workaround for QE/CI on my Radeon HD 2400 (could only boot up in safe mode while using it), I decided to try my out of the box working Radeon x1300. Plugged it in, and booted up. As usual, QE/CI worked right away. However, there are some new bugs that I have never seen before. Every dropdown menu is completely black, so I can't see any of the options. And when I have the translucent menu bar active, the Apple logo is distorted. Two very strange problems, and I have no clue what could be causing them. I have all of my 10.5.2 kexts backed up, so if anyone has an idea of a kext I could try and import, I can do that. I would have some pictures uploaded, but the file browser window in Safari is also black. Anyone have some ideas? xxDriveNxx
Well, I decided to try and import the ATI kexts from the 'Disabled' 10.5.3 Extensions folder, and all that managed to do was get rid of my QE/CI completely. No closer to a solution at all. xxDriveNxx
Well, triple post I guess, but I was able to figure it out on my own. I just played around with 10.5.2 kexts until it worked. Ended up loading my 10.5.2 ATIRadeonx1000.kext, and ATIRDNDRV.kext. I also had tried using the VGA adapter, and it worked right when I switched to my DVI (I had to use VGA with my HD 2400). Anyways, the only problem left is mouse artifacts, but that has always been there. This will definitely work until someone figures out how to get the old Natit cards working with 10.5.3.
