Rob2All
Interesting hmm I need more feedback from ATI Radeon HD 2400 pcie users Hi LastExile! I applied the package for ATI Radeon HD 2400 with device ID: 94c3. After restart and gray apple boot screen the monitor goes black and goes into Power save, while the computer is on. The Card has One DVI and One VGA and the interface ic PCIe. Connecting with either one renders the same result . I tried to Reinstall the Kalyway 10.5.2 which was quite stable on Sleep kernel without selecting any graphic drivers, but I still can't see anything past grey apple boot screen. I'm running a triple boot with 2 Harddisks: 1 with Vista and the 2nd with XP Pro and Leopard 10.5.2. Before applying Your package I had all resolution and no QE which resulted in Not being able to Play DVD's and some other graphics related software was not accessible. if You can suggest at least how a can reverse this installation, I'd really appreciate it. Rob2all. P.S. Just tried it with DVI 2 VGA adapter and it works. QE Supported and DVDs play!! Only the hardware specs show ATI Radeon 2400 XT? I guess will wait for DVI support! Sorry for aforementioned and Thanks!.
Samjung
I'm not sure if this is progress or not, but I want to show it: I used the NVinstaller to install a bunch of drivers - on thier own they did nothing for me. I then used the Natit I fixed the typo on to get my card reccognized. Then I used this package with kext-helper to get my card reccognized. I've managed to get to this point several times - but this is the very FIRST time that I've been able to follow up by opening OpenGL Extensions Viewer, and have it work. Every single other time, its like it doesn't detect any OpenGL stuff whatsoever, so presumably, there is something in the NVinstaller that is allowing this, that nothing else I've tried has. It even let me do the 3d stuff (though only at like 20 frames per second or something) I'm stopping at this point for a little bit, in case someone has some information for me that might be able to get things working further - as I'm sure I'll just make matters worse from here. And a screenshot: *notice how all of them except the last one (3.0) are all 100% working. Is this where the problem lies? Is there a fix for this?* Any Ideas where to go from here? Thanks, Fujilives *Links again* NVinstaller Post Install Package UPDATE For those of you with 3450 that want to try this, it should get you at least as far as I got, do the above, and then before you restart, install the kext below with kext-helper! 3450 Modified Natit Well, I managed to get my card recognised like this , by just using those 2 packages. Thanks for that. The only downside is that I can't change my resolution..Still stuck on 1024x768. I'm on a 1280x800 screen. I don't have a clue how I could fix this. Any ideas? SharkyNL
Hello everybody, I have a ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro (device id: 0x94c3) and installed iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 distro. I maybe have a solution for our DVI problem. You all know that you can get your ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro working with the Natit method, but then you don't have DVI support. After some searching i think I have the solution. You have to follow this guide (I call it the Triakis method). It is also described here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...rt=#entry666456. Follow this guide to try the Triakis method: 1. Do a clean install of iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 (The one I used). Do not select any graphics-related things during the installation. 2. Install Triakis_2400_2600_2900_3800.pkg. 3. Open ATIRadeonX2000.kext with TextMate (from Extensions). 4. Put the following Device ID: 0x94c31002 to info.plist under ATIRadeonX2000.kext and save. 5. Open Terminal and type: sudo chown -R root:wheel /system/library/extensions sudo chmod -R 755 /system/library/extensions sudo rm /system/library/extensions.mkext sudo kextcache –k /system/library/extensions 6. Afterwards, open Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Then reboot, and voila everything is working If you did all above then everything should be alright and you should have CI/CQ and DVI support. I hope to hear from you guys if it works or not. If not, maybe someone can do something about it to solve the problems. Triakis_2400_2600_2900_3800.zip

Fujilives
@ the snow-leopard question, I have tried installing sl, but supposedly there is a newer chameleon release we have to wait on before things will run - I get a kernal panic when mine tries to load the install disk, the same issue I ran into when I tried to install the new build made for the newer osx-laptops. However, someone did link the snow-leopard files here, and while our cards are included in the plist (much like they are in the mac-laptop release) I did NOT find them in the executable while searching via a hex-editor. That's not to say they won't be supported, but without the card ids being in the executable itself, its unlikely as of now. I'd still like to get both the snow-leopard and new-laptop builds installed to see if there IS a difference when they are running on what they are 'meant' to run on, but I hit a major roadblock there and just kind of gave up, as I was tired of hitting roadblock after roadblock of "not yet released" things that would allow me to check if something stood a chance in hell of working. All I am doing now is checking in a few times a week to see where things stand, but I personally, cannot take it further on my own without some new release of some sort (ideneb 1.4? ^^)

hoodcore310
hello everyone, I was wondering if i could get some help here, i an ATI Radeon HD3650 PCI-E card and an ASUS P5W-DH motherboard, after installing iDeneb v1.3, i go into safe mode and install the 'ATI Radeon HD 3650 - Eps modified natit - Fixed' on InsanelyMac forum, and restart my computer and i no longer get a scrambled screen after the boot screen, but a really light blue screen and it just stays there. i know it has potential to work, because the first time i installed it, it worked, but then started doing the 'blue screen thing' after the 3rd reboot. if ANYONE could help me, i would appreciate it. thanks in advance. Fujilives
Me again, I noticed the new PCEFI V9 was released. I am not positive on how to take advantage of this in order to test SL's potential mobility capabilities. I was on netkas website and noticed the new bootloader was released yesterday. I had issues installing Snow Leopard prior to this, and as a result am not sure of the approach needed to install snow leopard properly from the developer disk. I have a chamaleon bootloader image, and I think what I am supposed to do is replace the "boot" file in that image with the new EFI~9 "boot" file, burn it to a disk, and then it should work - correct? I'm not sure if th is is the correct approach, I feel as though I may be taking the entirely wrong path to get things loaded. Please, if you understand a lot about this type of thing, and can coach me step-by-step through the easiest process, I'd appreciate it. I have the dev-release of Snow-Leo and Ideneb 1.3, 10.5.5 (which installs well on my dell laptop) - so a starting point based around those things would be fantastic. Thanks, Fujilives
Lau24
does anyone know if the HD3650 package works on a Radeon HD3200? And if no, when will the HD3200 be supported then?
Fujilives
Son of a {censored}. I've come accross another ATI kext that has the Mob-3650 in it, not the plist, but the actual executable, found via hex-edit. Heres some lines of comparison: 94c9 = M72 Mobility Radeon HD 2400 - *IS LISTED AND SUPPORTED UNDER PLIST FILE* ....00000F83AD05000081FAC99400000F875C0A000081.... 9591 = M86 Mobility Radeon HD 3650 - *is NOT LISTED or supported under plist file* ....90909090909090909081FA919500000F8429FBFF.... The similarities in how they are listed is pretty high (look at the underlined portion - the bolded portion is the card ID) - to me it seems likely that if the mob 2400 is supported, which it looks like it is, and this is the only listing in the whole hex file that I can (at least without dissasembly or raw code or some {censored}) find easily for either of them. I really didn't want to have to reinstall OSX again unless I had something solid, I just got my lappy all set up nice and pretty ;(. There are a couple things I can try here. 1) Just enter the card information in the plist and hope for the best (I already tried this, but never with this particular kext file - at least not that I remember) 2) Swap parts of the 3650 hex with the 2400 hex (I say swap because I'd rather not have more calls referencing 3650 than it knows what to do with) 3) Try some rigged up EFI solution like below: What drove me to this potential solution was looking at another post on here recently: I have a HD2400XT and as a lot of ppl I was having the scrambled screen problem using injectors. I solved with this: 1) Installed from latest drivers package http://www.nvinstaller.com (9f23 as of now) 2) Using EFIStudio I selected ATI HD2400 3) Using EFIStudio I changed the framebuffer value (inside the efi string) to Megalodon 4) Using EFIStudio I inserted the modified efi string inside boot.plist 5) Changed ATIRadeon2000.kext to include hd2400XT Ven.ID and Prod.ID 6) Rebooted Now CI/QE are enabled So, if he can do it with that kext, and that card ID, which should be 94C1 (regular 2400 XT) is not even listed inside the file, but instead 94c8 is (the mobility 2400 XT) - and this solution worked for him, it's possible, while still a stretch, that either using EFI studio or rigging via hexedit, we could get this thing to work. The only problem is, I don't know where to get the value to use in EFIStudio for the 3650 Mobility - Where is this coming from and can someone provide me with either step-by-step-human-readable "DONT ASSUME I KNOW ANYTHING" type instructions to get this, or provide me with one already done that I could just copy/paste? Update: Out of curiosity I also looked up the 3450 Mobility ID inside the file with Hex edit, and came accross this: ....FAC59500000F874E04000081FAC4950000730C81FAC29500.... Underlined parts are of interest: C595 or -> 95c5 is ATI Radeon HD 3450 RV620 chipset C495 or -> 95c4 is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 M82 chipset (also shared with the whole 3400 mobility non-incremental series) C295 or -> 95c2 is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3430 M82 chipset Why is all this code in there? Why call on all of these particular IDs? This has to be working to some extent, I cant imagine this all coincidentally just "being there" for no functional reason. Fujilives
Hey man I am ready to test anything you can throw at me..... Lets start as simple as we can, and work our way up. All of the following tests ARE STRICTLY FOR THE 3450 MOBILITY and are geared towards ridgeline. They will all rely on the 9f23installer.pkg from NVinstaller (Since thier download is slow as hell I've uploaded it to my storage for your testing purposes). Please use Kexthelper because I feel it eliminates most human error in testing these things. I reccomend you have a seperate install of osx as well so you can recover things easily if this doesn't work, as each test stands a chance of borking your ability to boot into OSX visually. Grab the NVinstaller package here This test will simply add your card to the plist-file of the Kext, and not alter the executable, but simply let it be called on. It will not do anything special to your system files and you will likely not have a fully-identified card, but this stands a chance of enabling hardware QE/CI - which in the end, is the only real goal. Test-1 - very basic plist edit Description: Modified the Plist File on 9f23installer.pkg's ATIRadeonX2000 kext file, in hope the executable makes use of the information properly. Instructions: Download and Install NVinstaller package. Download, unzip, and Install THIS Modified Plist Kext file using Kext Helper before you reboot -- AFTER YOU INSTALL NVinstaller package. Open Disk Utility and repair permissions (you'll need to do this because I used different permissions when I modified info.plist) Reboot - at login screen use "-v -f" flags I predict that the result will be the Scrambled Screen, but its worth trying as a start. Report back asap - I am at work and will be working - but I'm checking in every few minutes

H4ckster
I have made an edit to efistudio that puts the VisionTek Radeon HD 3650 with 512mb in the dropdown as a choice I used the eps fixed 5.5 driver pkg for the 3650 then removed natit, I think this is needed b/c the drivers in this pkg are bin patched ... someone correct me if I am wrong on that. To add this file into the app just right click on it and show package contents, then go to EFIStudio.app/Contents/Resources/graphiccards and drop in this plist. Then run efistudio and it will be under display in the list of supported efi strings.
