Thanks Giorgio,

i've followed your instructions and it worked. Just one thing...once i added my device id to the the IOPCIMatch, i saved it, and then the reboots takes over 2minutes ( everytime now ), i get a flaky screen, and after 2minutes i'm on my desktop...any ideas why this happen?

Should i be reinstalling from scrach without selected any video driver?

Any sugestions are welcome!

Thanks again

Regards

I have no ideas. But maybe reinstalling without select any video driver can solve the problem.

LastExile, I'm 100% sure you don't have to wait long to get" R V seven seven zero" card work natively. Just wait for the update.

Please continue exploring in 34x mobility's world.

I have the same problem, I installed these kextes/ Just runned the package/. It showed me msg, need to reboot. After reboot I have black screen, when the OS starts Ideneb. 10.5.5. Really can't understand why.....I don't isntalled any programms or drivers or ... just nothing when I installed the Os but have the same divice 94c3.Can't get workin' resolution...

@lastExile Is there a chance to run normal Ati Radeon Pro 2400 Pcie 94c3 like the old packege installer on Ideneb 10.5.5?

Have you made right steps?

I have installed 3 video cards 94c3 on 3 sistems with iDeneb 1.3 without problems: during installation I haven't select any video kext.

There is another method to obtain QE/CI with HD 2400Pro (94c3) and HD 2400XT (94c1) in Leopard 10.5.5, is the method og Demone (I have tested this method with 2 HD 2400XT and 3 HD 2400Pro and iDeneb 1.3): this method works too with HD 2600Pro and HD 2600XT DDR3.

1) Install latest drivers package from http://nvinstaller.com (9f23 as of now)

2) Open EFIStudio and press "Device Path" icon, write "display" into the first textbox and press "Get Path" button, press "To Clipboard" button, close window

3) Still inside EFIStudio select ATI HD2400 (should be selected as its the first of the list), press "Add Device" the Editor appears

4) In the editor replace /plist/dict/key node value (default value is PciRoot(0x0.......) with the one you have in the clipboard (just select old value and paste it over): if the 2 values are equal skip this step

5) Still inside the editor replace every "Iago" string occurrence (you could find other kind of framebuffers like "Lamna") with "Megalodon" string and every "IagoParent" string with "MegalodonParent" string

6) Still inside the editor press "write to com.apple.boot.plist" button to insert the EFI string in the system

7) Change ATIRadeonX2000.kext to include HD 2400 XT Prod.ID and Ven.ID (not directly, put the kext on Desktop, change device id, save it and install with kexthelper)

8) Fix permissions with disk utility

9) Reboot with flags -v -f

CI/QE should now be enabled

Where is 2600XT support?

I am willing to test drivers I need them that bad....

Normally the 2600XT , PCIe with 256 MB is any very compatible card ( i had one , and had not to use Natit or GFXstring at all!).

Update: Sept-19.2008

So everyone has been asking for the 34xx series well Resolution works and looks like CI/QE might work soon not sure how soon tho due to work kicks me.. (LOL)

and Radeon HD 2600Pro works vanilla with added device id into info.plist & added Natit.kext, 3850 Works like 3870 just with natit as far as 3870x2 it might work the same

as 3850 but still needs to be tested... anyone that has a 3870x2 needs to try and see if it still needs to have white menu bug and report back into the irc channel for some direct help

for 2400 the DVI issue is still there but is on a note for fix

as far as mobility it does not look so good but not to give up the hope :D

for 48xx Netkas still looking at a fix or just waiting for apple to add the support or ati but hopefully 10.5.6 will have more support

Ps. i will refresh the installers maybe not all of them at once but will be updated with proper fix on it

Tiger installers will be on rapidshare seems like sendspace cant handle the load lol

How To: if it doesnt install the kexts use Pacifist to install the pkg :) ( refreshing the pkg list soon )

Known Issues :.

AGP: Kernel Panic Due to AGPGart Version newer versions for nvidia Nforce users and some doesnt give the AGP Status in sys profiler ( 2600pro&XT and 3650 )

PCie: No QE/CI only Resolution for some. No DVI mode for some 2400 users :P

for direct help Join irc.osx86.hu #RadeonHD

and give Netkas the thanks :D

Update: try pkg for 2600 Pro & XT, 3850 & 3870 and maybe ( 2400 series ) also 3650 users try this Report back

Hi folks,

i'm new into this topic, so please forgive me, if my questions seem to be too noobish!

=)

  • does a breakthrough regarding the 3450 have consequences for the 3470 series?
  • does a breakthrough regarding the 3470 provide good chances for the 3470 HD (mobile)?

everybody seems to know the differences and nobody talks about it...i just want to know.

thanks for a tiny reply...

Gekko =)

Well after much frustration this post has been a life saver! Finally QE/CI are working with my Visiontek ATI HD 2600 pro 512MB. I started with a eVGA nvidia 9800XT 512 MB that I spent a multitude of hours on and could not get QE/CI working. I sent the board back and got the ATI. Here is what worked.

First installed: ATIRadeonX2000 Leopard.pkg http://www.mediafire.com/?vjg1jwiv2ni

This found everything about the board but no QE/CI.

Second: found this thread and installed

"old downloads"

ATI Radeon HD 2600pro PciE

Device ID: 9589

ATI Radeon HD 2600Pro Pcie 10.5.x

Did not work.

Third: I downloaded.

Update: try pkg for 2600 Pro & XT, 3850 & 3870 and maybe ( 2400 series ) also 3650 users try this Report back

http://tinyurl.com/3qcg8g : ATI Radeon HD - 10.5.x - 10.5.5 kexts

And it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! imovie works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks VERY much I was beginning to loose hope.

All resolutions show up and work too!

Please help if you can.

here is a question for any 34xx users how hot does the card get ? the card im testing with is very hot without a side fan or something

With Vista, the mobility one doesn't get hot with normal use (internet, office...), with a dual screen and adobe CS apps it can get a bit hot, but fan works well ;)

Please help me if you can. I followed the advice on page 53 of this thread to install my ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO. I added the device ID to ati2000xt.kext file but I still have no QE. It shows that QE is supported now whereas before I entered the device ID it showed not supported. I've heard some others say that you need to use a dvi to vga adapter. Would this be a solution? I wouldn't think so but who knows.

Now you have QE/CI avctivated. (I don't understand what is your problem).

Have your monitor VGA or DVI input?

I had realized that soon... A working driver would be a great step for this notebook! Thanks!

Is there a connection between the not working graphic driver and

1. A Studio15 getting very, very warm.

2. Not working sleep ?

Which of those facts could be solved right away?

If there are solutions, could you give me a link to the posts? I already have spend a long time to find information about those, without success...

Thanks a lot

I have a Dell Studio 1535. MacosX 10.5.5...
