ATI Radeon HD pkg installers 10.5.x & 10.6

I installed ATI2000drivers on a clean iDeneb OS X and the boot problem seems gone away.

But I didn't installed OpenGL frameworks because I realized I have a same 1.5.7.31.0 version like yours without 'Headers' folder what's included in your version.

 

I realized an other thing that if I enable QuartzGL this causes the uncontrollable mouse movements in some opened application window.

And the 'Expose' feature looks not so smooth .....

 

I attached a XBench test what I made after driver install.

 

Xbench OpenGL Values are more CPU benches !

Use OpenGLExtensionsViewer (Bench TAB) insted - much more realistik GPU benches.

ATI 3850 is 2-3 times faster than an 2600XT running that Bench at higher (1600x1200) resolution.

 

Also QuartzGL (isnt QuartzExtreme !) didnt work very good, so its disabled by default what is the best setting! (QuartzDebug Tool of Xcode shows / can enable that).

Can you made drivers for ATI Radeon HD 3200...i have it on my HP 6735s notebook...

for all AMD users ! either use the opengl in the first page decrypted for amd due to intel cpu id in it that might conflict with things like CI/QE or other things kthx

I got a same black screen boot problem.

I just add a Graphics Mode key to com.apple.Boot.plist and everything goes fine!

HD3870 makes me artefact with lastest package. I add this value to fix:PP_DynamicPCIEGen2Enabled (number=1)

 

without this value my card doesn't initialize correctly ANY framebuffer. But thanks cause Megalodon was the last I didin't try with this value added (This value is present in Hypoprion & Lago but not activated)

 

QuartzGL works very well for me like when I play Spore in 1600x1200 for exemple with full details.

See inside ATINDRV.kext/content/plugins/Hypoprion.kext/content/info.plist for plist tree and correct value

 

Copy value and tree inside the framebuffer you want to test and set them to number = 1

 

Unfortunatly for me this lastest package don't work at all cause the update of openGL library inside

Now Xbench crash when attempting to test openGL so I'm gonna backup and restore Hypoprion.

But before my brother tell me about triakis and he own the same card so I will test activating thoses value in Triakis.

 

PS: All thoses informations are testing purpose don't do that without backup on another partition and don't make me responsible if it crash your video(even if you should always be able to boot with -x)

 

2nd Edit: After more testing; it seems that Hypoprion framebuffer's is the best for my EAH3870 GDDR4.

I have edited info.plist to add the entry PP_PCIEGen2Enable = 1 but let GFXclockgating to 0 and no artefact at initialization. but also in ATIX2000.kext/content/info.plist set ATIUseTearingWideBlit to boolean = yes

And finally edit in Library/Preferences/com.applewindowserver.plist add QuartzGLEnbled string = true

 

Graphic test show a lttle gain from 299 to 315 but actually I can't test OpenGL. will post later new graphics tests.

I have the mobo P4P800 De Luxe (without the E) + HD3650 AGP + 22" full HD BenQ E2200HD but I couldn't setup with IDeneb. What settings (drivers/patches etc) did you use during installation ? I really would like to have my monitor running all resolutions.

 

I did however install 10.5.4 from iAtkos 2.0 but somehow I can't get the HD3650 working properly; I only have the default resolution avalable . (Btw except for raid,VIA VT1610, everything else works: LAN/Sound/Printer/Printerserver)

 

I appreciate any help.

I have an issue with some apps, example with Premiere Pro CS4. It looks like a prob with video card. Tha app just hangs after an import. Does anyone have a clue ?

I've got my Sapphire HD3850 AGP working somewhat. I can change the resolution. This started to work after I made my own GFX string in EFI Studio, and changed all Lamna refferences to Megalodon. But there's no QE! No matter what I try, system profiler keeps telling me that CoreImage is SOFTWARE and not hardware accelerated. Any ideas anyone?

 

I also tried the solution on page 51 for the same card, but it didn't do much for me. Though I did finally succeed in booting up with natit installed without safe mode (before I'd get a black screen or a blue screen). I did edit natit, because the device ID of this card is 9515 and not 9505.

iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 installed with the following drivers and patches:

When I try to install ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT AGP - 10.5.x - 10.5.5.pkg

I got square blocks on white background all over the screen after reboot...

 

With installed ATI Radeon HD - 10.5.x - 10.5.5 kexts.pkg

card works with all resolutions, but CI/QE don't works.

How can I fix this please?

If your device id is 94c3 and the card is PCI-E I have te right kexts.
