Phantomstealth Posted March 2, 2006 Share Posted March 2, 2006 This is a quick tutorial on how I upgraded Front Row 1.1 on my Powerbook G4 to the new 1.2.1 released today. If you have used Front Row enabler by http://www.andrewescobar.com/frontrow/ then you can use this tip to upgrade to the new version with the Shared Library features. You will need the following -Mac OS X 10.4.5 -The latest iTunes 6.0.4 update (via software update or http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/itunes604.html) -The Security Patch Released Today (Security Update 2006-001 PPC only) -Front Row 1.1 installed by the directions on the front row enabler site -Pacifist (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12743) -Front Row 1.2.1 Update (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/frontrow121.html) *instructions 1) Open up Pacifist from the Applications Folder 2) Double Click the FrontRowUpdate.dmg you downloaded 3) Control+Click on the FrontRowUpdate.mpkg in the mounted dmg and click show package contents 4) Double Click on Contents folder 5) Double Click the Resources Folder 6) Drag the AppleVAUpdate3.0.17.pkg file into Pacifist and click Install (when it prompts and asks if you would like to replace the files click REPLACE for everything it asks) 7) Drag the FrontRowUpdate1.2.1.pkg file into Pacifist and click install (Replace all files it prompts you to replace) 8) Reboot 9) Enjoy!!!! I updated it with pacifist, but after restarting, FR won't start up. Even not after installing the old FR.
