But the sound... my hardware: Q6600 4 gig Ram p35-dq6 I have tried severel alc889a kext files and applehd files but none are working. I allways used kexthelper, so i think the Installation is not the Problem. Rasmus DC Posted May 13, 2008 Share Posted May 13, 2008 had issues 2, used PCWIZ codec pack just choose the Soundcard.. works, had problems with it the first time but tried it again and it worked.. the files i named pcwiz-p35-ds3p-ds3r-ds4-newpack just google it and you´ll find a download site. JestaGeek Posted June 12, 2008 Share Posted June 12, 2008 I have a similar board with ALC889a audio that stopped working after installing 10.5.3 (worked fine by installing with appropriate boxes selected with plain Kalyway 10.5.2 before that, but 10.5.3 was an improvement once I got sound fixed). I found that pcwiz's files still seem to work fine with 10.5.3. I don't know if there are any newer files but you should try re-installing the files mentioned in my signature if you haven't got this sorted already.
