peach-os
56 tracks running on my Asus Z8NA-D6 with 2 Xeons E5520 @ 2,27 with Logic 9.1 and 256 samples although logic now seems to use the multicores more effective, it looks like higher frequency is more important for a better score. counter-resonance
On my Intel Q9550s (2.83Ghz quadcore, 12MB cache) - GA-P35-DS3 rev1.1 - 4GB PC6400 DDR2 running 10.6.3 23 tracks on my HP-DV5 1138tx laptop - Intel P8400 (2.25Ghz dualcore, 3MB cache) - PM45 chipset - 4GB PC6400 DDR2 - On mains power running 10.6.1 13 tracks both tests with Digidesign MBox2 - 256 sample buffer. I want an 8 core now... but Xeons and their RAM are too ex$pensive... erbtype
32 tracks @ 32 samples That's maxing 2/4 audio bars in Logic (8's) cpu meter and showing ~65% cpu usage in activity monitor with no audio dropouts. Shifting windows about and using expose while it's playing has no detrimental effect. Core i5 750 @ stock, 4 Gb ram, Motu 828 MkII firewire, Asus 5770, 10.6.4, Logic 8.0.2. starobrno1
I have the i7 930 cpu the Asus P6T SE mobo and 1600 memory but I can´t get up to that many tracks. And on this new I hack I put together I only have Logic Express 9 so I don´t have the Spacedesigner reverb and not even without it I could get over I think it was round 65 tracks. Edit: cpu running at stock speed Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/102713-logic-8-benchmark/page/6/#findComment-1574233 Share on other sites
