Okay so I was a bit annoyed that I only had 1 Gateway that I was able to install 10.4.4 on. Every system after that never worked. All the time the boot.plist not found error.

So after being really pissed today I took the drive out of the gateway and put it into a compaq. And guess what it booted right up! No problems at all!

So I don't understand what is going on.

I tried to burn multiply iso's. DVD-R, DVD+R. Different speeds. I have a pile of about 10 disks sitting here in all variations and it only successfully installed on 1 machine, and then when I move the drive it works on the other but I can't install it on 3 other laptops at all. Very strange.

Maybe it only will install right under the right "bios" conditions or does it have to do with a bootloader?

Very confused right now.

The harddrive. I took the Harddisk from the Gateway and put it into a Compaq. And it booted just fine.

I used the same DVD to install both the Gateway and the Compaq. The Compaq will come back with the error. The gateway just works fine.

Why don't you try doing a restore disk to the compaq's HDD from your Gateway's?
