seaboltman
Any time I download a file from a torrent, or I attempt to move a large file from one hard drive to the other, my install crashes. I have tried several different torrent programs. The catch there, is If I just do a stright download from a sever, I dont have any issues. Anyone have a clue what this could be caused by? Pull two gigs of your ram and see if it still does it. mcglothi
I had the same issue... Vapor is right, I bumped the system down to 2 gigs of RAM and it is a lot more stable. I believe there is a way to fix it to run with 4, but 2 is really fine for me right now. nyogtha
I had this problem until I enabled AHCI-support in my bios. After I did that my system has been rock stable no matter how large files i transfer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Host...oller_Interface I run my system with 8GB of ram btw. lord_muad_dib
amd should not have the 4gb problem like intel, i'd say something's wrong with the chipset/ethernet drivers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/101150-large-file-transfersdownloads-cause-crash/#findComment-727175 Share on other sites
seaboltman
I would normally agree with the Ethernet/Chipset driver assessment, but it crashes when i transfter large files from one drive on the computer to the next. My Bios doesnt have an AHCI option, and after research, there dont appear to be any other bios for this board... What exactly does AHCI do for me that Would make this issue go away?
