TaiLZ
Hello, I recently installed OSX Tiger 1.4.9 on my spare 20gb HDD and it all went well, but after the installation, i can never get it to boot into it. It stars the Mac Loading bit and just keeps spinning the spinny thing and that X pops up. Images attached, Any ideas, im Running 2.8GHZ P4 Intel. http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/350/dsc00024bx4.jpg and http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/8192/dsc00025hi5.jpg Would appreciate and help/suggestions, thank you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100034-installed-tiger-now-issues/ Share on other sites
Reveeen
Can you tell us a bit more about your system, other than 2.8ghz Intel. Personally, I have had the best luck with the XxX 10.4.11 release, complete with detailed instructions, and missing the FU screen (as it loads/attempts to load the OS it gives you a running log as to what is going on). TaiLZ
It's a HP D530 It's Pentium 4 2.8 GHZ Single Processor 512mb RAM (Crucial PC 2700, had more but they all blew up unrelated to the OSX) 20GB HDD for the Mac OS X CPU Technical: Code Name: Northwood Brand ID: 9 Package: Socket 478 mPGA HP 085ch Model Chipset Intel i865P/PE/i848p Southbridge: 82801EB (ICH5) Bios HP Version 786B2 v2.4.3 I have a PCI ATI x1650 Radeon Pro Graphics Card also, maybe this is the reason? I can take it out and try with the Built in Intel Integrated Graphics if you think it might help. Thanks. Reveeen
OK, I take it, on-board video, no AGP slot, no way to disable video in bios, and no auto-disable (so main memory assigned to on-board video is lost) you have to do the disable on-board video trick in windoze device manager. Loose the PCI video card, try reinstalling a SSE2 system with no video choices (you will get a default VESA driver), and see how that goes. It will suck, and be slow (video), but you have no other choices.
