Tested on OS X El Capitan 10.11.x , macOS Sierra 10.12.x

 

installation instruction:

1. copy the patched AppleHDA kext to the root of the macOS system (S/L/E - system/library/extensions).

2. set permissions , re-cache (use KextUtility v.2.6.6 or analog).

3. edit your config.plist file (set audio injection 28, activate ACPI DSDT patch FixHDA_8000).

4. reboot & enjoy!

 

p/s : this sound kext in theory should work on the entire line of the X53S series laptop

I have Asus K53E BBR5,

 

Do I just use Kext Wizard to install to /SLE and then fix permissions and so forth?

Anything else I should do?

Hi Mak, yes,install to S.L.E.,fix permissions,use Clover ,edit config.plist (add FixHDA to position Yes - true or add manual to DSDT in to HDEF ) ,add inject layout 28.
